OUR PLANS MULTIPLIED

In the beginning, JD adamantly only wanted two children. I thought that four would be perfect. Once we caught God's vision of putting orphans into families, our plan was multiplied by God. We are currently blessed with 12 children; five biological, six adopted and one more waiting in Ethiopia. Our first adoption was from the U.S., the next three were from Liberia, West Africa, and our last two were from Ethiopia. We are supporting our 12th child in Ethiopia after her adoption could not pass court.

Christmas Break Coming to the End

Today was supposed to be the last day of Christmas break, but I think we are going to have a one day extension due to illness. Poor Elijah spent the entire day throwing up. It's the first time he has ever thrown up, so he was a bit scared in the beginning. By the 10th round, he was a pro and waited over his throw-up bowl. He has told me several times today how much he hates throw up; I so agree! Now my big hope and prayer is that no one else gets it! I generally don't come out of these situations very well after I've cleaned it all day.

JD and I took turns sitting with Elijah, so on JD's turn, the girls and I took down the Christmas decorations. Julia did all the glass balls herself while Tori matched two whole Rubbermaid's of Hallmark ornaments to the correct boxes!

Not that I want them to grow up, but it's rather nice to have another set of girls to be my helpers. The cool thing is that Tori and Julia still think it's fun.

  1. I love having girls to help. Clay only had to put the star on tip of the tree this year. Now mind you, he did do all the outside lights. But the girls (my 2 big ones) did all the put up & take down of the tree. We even did the loading up of the attic. I actually told Clay, "aren't jealous of my girl helpers?" He actually said yes & looks forward to the boys getting older to help him with all of the outside chores. But unfortunately boys don't generally mature as quickly as girls do. I'm so blessed either way tho. Sorry Elijah & y'all are sick.
