OUR PLANS MULTIPLIED

In the beginning, JD adamantly only wanted two children. I thought that four would be perfect. Once we caught God's vision of putting orphans into families, our plan was multiplied by God. We are currently blessed with 12 children; five biological, six adopted and one more waiting in Ethiopia. Our first adoption was from the U.S., the next three were from Liberia, West Africa, and our last two were from Ethiopia. We are supporting our 12th child in Ethiopia after her adoption could not pass court.

Home Depot Stop

I mentioned that it took us 12 hours to make our seven hour trip home; much of that time was spent at Wal-Mart and Home Depot purchasing hurricane supplies. I'm convinced that there wasn't a D battery to purchase on the entire east coast; we tried three Wal-Marts in three states. The good news is that I now have what I need to make it through any additional 2011 hurricanes, (other than a working generator and D batteries.)

Here's Gabriel and Elijah at our extended pack-the-trailer stop at Home Depot. We stumbled across a patio table at almost 75% off and a few chairs at 50% off that we bought for our future deck and had to re-arrange the entire contents to cram in. At first Elijah wasn't impressed that his scooter was making an escape.

Then Gabriel took him cruising on the smooth pavement; something we have zero of at our house.

Making the most of every part of the vacation.

  1. Big families are such a blessing. I think people are really missing out.

  2. It's amazing the supplies you need for emergencies. I think it's time to get my own list together "just in case".

    You have a beautiful time.

    Blessings,
