OUR PLANS MULTIPLIED

In the beginning, JD adamantly only wanted two children. I thought that four would be perfect. Once we caught God's vision of putting orphans into families, our plan was multiplied by God. We are currently blessed with 12 children; five biological, six adopted and one more waiting in Ethiopia. Our first adoption was from the U.S., the next three were from Liberia, West Africa, and our last two were from Ethiopia. We are supporting our 12th child in Ethiopia after her adoption could not pass court.

Urgent Prayer Needed for Adopting Family

I was met with the most unbelievable story on Facebook today. A family that lives in CA that is adopting a sibling group of four from Ghana headed there for court, just like we just did a few weeks ago, with their two biological children. They are adopting through a large agency and had all appropriate paperwork, but were arrested on child trafficking charges and thrown in a jail in Ghana. Their biological children, who are only four and six, were put into the orphanage along with the four children that they are adopting. At first, the U.S. embassy in Ghana was not going to look into their case until Monday, since they don't work weekends, but due to the out-cry from the adoption community, they are going to begin working on it today. Please pray for this family - I can only imagine how terrified their little boys are (they can't even understand the language!) and how stressful the whole situation has to be for the parents. You can see the family here -

You can be a voice for them with the embassy in Ghana here - please ask that they be released immediately and their children be reunited with them. The more people, the more the embassy will prioritize their case!

Finally, this seals the deal for me...I have been wanting to take Elijah with us to Ethiopia. After reading this, he will be staying safely at home! I pray that somehow, someway, good will come from the trauma this family is being called to endure.
