OUR PLANS MULTIPLIED

In the beginning, JD adamantly only wanted two children. I thought that four would be perfect. Once we caught God's vision of putting orphans into families, our plan was multiplied by God. We are currently blessed with 12 children; five biological, six adopted and one more waiting in Ethiopia. Our first adoption was from the U.S., the next three were from Liberia, West Africa, and our last two were from Ethiopia. We are supporting our 12th child in Ethiopia after her adoption could not pass court.

The Point of the Blog -

The point of the blog, for me, is to allow friends and family to see and hear about our lives and to keep a memory for my children. I have so many awesome things going on, so want to start with a recap about the goats and llapacas. We have 10 baby goats this spring - they are super cute as you can see.

Lady had a set of triplets - Carmelle, Claudia and Canaan. Storm had a set of twins - Cypress and Cedar, Daisy had a set of triplets - Captain, Commander and Carnation and finally Agnus then had a set of twins - Chris and Chickpea.

We are keeping Claudia after caring for her as the tiny runt who didn't want to eat, but other than that, most have deposits on them and will be leaving in the next two weeks.

This spring I called in the professional shearers for the llama and alpaca blends; they did fur, hooves and teeth! They told me to have three helpers on hand, but really we didn't have to do too much once they were down.

Butte decided to hide in the barn once she saw Glacier's treatment.

Jewel, who looks like her momma, was the second to go.

Butte was the inevitable third llama; the shearer thinks she is 75% llama while the white two are 75% alpaca. We just coined the term llapaca to cover them all.

They had to stay dry before the cuts and didn't appreciate not having their pools; they are flipped and filled now.

After testing, shots, dehorning, hoof cleaning, and wethering, Cypress and Cedar were the first to head to their new home.

The spoiled babies still get some bottles at night; they line up for them.

I have a story about the Suburban breaking down on the way home from the vet with FOUR dogs in it - both Pyrenees, the collie and the yapping Pomeranian. Good times and we have a "new" Yukon now!
