In the beginning, JD adamantly only wanted two children. I thought that four would be perfect. Once we caught God's vision of putting orphans into families, our plan was multiplied by God. We are currently blessed with 12 children; five biological, six adopted and one more waiting in Ethiopia. Our first adoption was from the U.S., the next three were from Liberia, West Africa, and our last two were from Ethiopia. We are supporting our 12th child in Ethiopia after her adoption could not pass court.

Incredible Video

I hope most people are aware that there are more human slaves right now than ever before in history. Unfortunately, a great majority of them are children - many as young as five. Imagine the Kindergartners you know working 12 hours a day, seven days a week catching fish without the protection of a family, instead of learning and playing. Take a peek into that very scenario in the country of Ghana, which is right next to Liberia where my three children are from. We think of the bad scenarios of orphanages...sometimes the ones that make it into orphanages are actually the lucky ones, because so many others are sold or trafficked into the horrible existence of the child slave industry.
